Salt Creek Hemp has been cultivating hemp since late 2014. This is our fifth season of outdoor production and the third full year of high cannabinoid hemp cultivation.
In 2015 and 2016 we grew grain and fiber crops. In 2016,  the crop we grew tested over the legal limit of THC, and we could not sell it. We mention this because, as painful as it was at the time, it ended up being an important and valuable lesson. It allowed us to conduct quite a bit of
experimentation with equipment and procedures, without having the worry of “ruining” our crop. Our 2017 and 2018 crop have been produced into Whole Flower Hemp Extract softgels that are sold nationally.

When you work with us, you get to take advantage of all the lessons we’ve learned the hard way!

The Salt Creek Hemp Team

Margaret: A true Hemp educator, Margaret is deeply connected in the hemp community. She has
focused on legislation and licensing issues, mobilizing local farmers and creating a pathway to success.
She is a board member of the Colorado Hemp Industries Association, and was Hemp History Week’s
Featured Farmer 2017.
Aaron: Former rotorcraft engineer (20 yrs) and mechanic, he can fix and modify almost anything. He is a
true believer in sustainable farming practices, which include responsible inputs. He has a knack for
finding ways to cut down on manual labor by implementing/modifying existing equipment. He is a true problem solver.
Fran: Our soil health guru and composting queen. (Also Margaret’s mom!) She has been attending regenerative farming and soil health conferences for the last few years, and brings her knowledge back to the farm where we use our cows and horses to help us fertilize through rotational grazing and we brew our own compost teas for plant nutrients. We are always actively working to rebuild the health of our soil, not only in the fields where we grow our hemp and vegetables, but in our hay pastures and grazing areas.

Joe: Also a former rotorcraft mechanic, Joe is the first one to jump in and get busy with the job at hand. Joe has four years of first-hand experience in the field, understanding the day-to-day needs of the plants.

In addition to the core team, we have many additional colleagues that we regularly collaborate with, including soil microbe experts, equipment manufacturers, cannabis genetics and propagation experts, event coordinators, transportation and logistics partners, lighting and supplies source, extraction solutions and end product developers.
